Samurai Action is a skill used by Sayuri from Hard Corps: Uprising.

Description[]

An unlockable skill exclusive to Sayuri. It can be purchased for 1,500,000 Corps Points at the Shop & Upgrades menu, where once purchased will allow Sayuri access to the Launch Attack, Homing Jump, and Dunk Attack actions, as well as a move performed by the Change Weapon button. The description provides little information on these actions however, leaving some players confused as to how the Samurai Action properly functions.

The three aforementioned Actions actually make up the entirety of the Samurai Action. To use the Samurai Action, press the Change Weapons button (Triangle/Y button by default) while on the ground. Sayuri can perform this action in two different methods:

  • Simply pressing the Change Weapon Button without an upward directional input will have Sayuri perform a thrusting palm strike facing her (the Launch Attack). Anyone hit and defeated by this strike will be propelled forward in a similar fashion as a Super Tackle, knocking out other enemies and obstacles in front of her.
  • Holding UP when pressing the action button will make Sayuri perform an upward-forward palm-strike. A hit and defeated enemy is thrust upward, and as this occurs, pressing the Change Weapon button again will cause Sayuri to quickly reposition herself upward close to the enemy for a follow up strike, Sayuri holding her sheathed sword at ready (the Homing Jump). Pressing the Change Weapon button once more while in the midair ready posture makes her follow up with a Dunk Attack, slamming the foe downward and striking anyone nearby or in the way of the dunked enemy. The upward Samurai Action can be used primarily used to reposition herself upward and grant her slight invincibility frames for the duration of the action.

Because of the angles, Sayuri can launch this attack in four different directions. Using the forward attack or the upward attack without launching can briefly leave her vulnerable to enemy attack as she will be unable to perform other actions or attacks or basic movement during the duration of the Samurai Action attack. This technique may be limited to only a handful of enemies and is generally effective on soldier type enemies. If used on an enemy capable of surviving this strike, Sayuri may receive damage. Although no additional points are awarded for a defeated enemy by the Launch Attack of this Action, the combo meter will refill after the Dunk Attack is connected successfully.
