Paula Terry is an Australian singer who contributed to several BEMANI series from 1999 to 2005, most noticeably Dance Dance Revolution. Most of her songs were composed by Naoki Maeda, although she did work with a few other BEMANI composers.

She performed the lyrics of "NEO CONTRA", the English theme that plays during the opening cutscene of the game of the same name.

Career[]

Singer Paula Terry was born in Sydney, Australia. Her mother was an opera singer and her brother is a classical guitarist. Terry studied drama and singing, and is a widely respected vocalist renowned for her seamlessly versatile vocal style range, including jazz standards, bossa nova, pop, dance and R&B.

A lifetime spent entertaining audiences on several continents, Terry can sing in French, Spanish, Portuguese and Japanese, and is a fluent Japanese and French speaker. When she first lived in Japan in 1998, she was signed by the Japanese label Alpha Music to record her debut album, Just Break Away, released by Toshiba EMI, and went on to record many more albums afterward.

She sings live regularly at gigs in Sydney with the Paula Terry Trio and funk band, Crackerjam. She has performed all over the world with some great musicians including Bassist, Paul Jackson and Naoki Maeda, producer of Konami's Dance Dance Revolution series. She recently wowed her audiences in Japan where she has regularly toured, has a big following, and has recorded extensively.

  • Her final song appearance in a BEMANI game was "Passion of Love" for Dance Dance Revolution EXTREME 2.
