Recommended by a schoolmate, he listened to the TBS radio program Pack in Music, in which Nozawa Nachi performed, and wanted to meet him. At the age of 18, he found an article in a theater news magazine about the Rose Theater Company, which Nozawa presided, and joined. He made his debut in Chante and began his career as a stage actor.

In 1993, he founded the theater company Fedor Theater with fellow Rose Theater alumni Kiyonobu Suzuki and Shigeru Shiibashi, and performed on stage. He later joined 81 Produce and had since been active in a wide range of fields including anime, dubbing and narration.

He died of a subarachnoid hemorrhage on December 24, 2014. He was 60 years old.
