The Flight Zako is an enemy from the Contra series. They are robots that fly close to the player and periodically fire bullets from their weapon arms for a few seconds. They tend to attack in groups.

Contra: Hard Corps[]
First appearance. Flight Zakos are flying robotic units that appear at the beginning of the High Speed Fight stage. They are initially seen coming out from an airship far in the background and soon arrive to the heroes' location, up to two at a time. When one gets destroyed, another will immediately replace it until they're all wiped out.
They come armed with mini-machine guns which they fire diagonally downward for a few seconds. These shots can be easily avoided by standing underneath each Zako, depending on the position of its partner. Regardless of color, they only have 5 HP each, and when destroyed, their heads fly away before hitting the road and exploding (non-harmful for the player).
There are a total of ten Flying Zako units. Once all of them are destroyed, the airship will crash into a nearby skyscraper.
