Emperor-Demon Reigning Ophidian is the seventh and final boss in Contra: Legacy of War.

The Emperor-Demon Reigning Ophidian is fought after the player takes out all the Zit Snakes and LP-426 Fly Traps in the final level. When the player is clearing them out, Ophidian is sealed swelling on the planetoid that comes to life and extends as a long tentacle creature trying to take out the player by either physical contact or firing red spheres similar to Searle's orbs from Contra III. These spheres can attract homing laser shots fired by the player. Ophidian also attacks with a flamethrower and the planetoid they fight on has bursts of flame erupting from the surface to be avoided. After taking enough hits, Ophidian falls and the planetoid bursts as the heroes ride a chunk of it back to Earth safely, unaware there is an alien stowaway on the other side of the rock they ride.
